R. A. Rodriguez on Stand No. EP150 at Drives and Controls

Gears will be a main focus for R. A. Rodriguez at this year’s Drives & Controls. Not only will the company emphasise the quality and extent of its established and growing KHK range of stock and custom gears, it will also introduce a range new to the UK allowing even greater custom capability. Since its appointment as the sole distributor for the German manufacturer, Framo Morat, R. A. Rodriguez has concentrated on the Framo range of drive systems.  These include compact slip-on geared motors, linear actuators and push-pull linear chains, all based on modular design principles and customised to suit each application. At the show R. A. Rodriguez is turning its attention to the core competence of Framo Morat, the production of gears and in particular worm gears for which the company is ranked amongst the leading suppliers in Europe. Through comprehensive manufacturing capabilities at KHK and Framo Morat, R. A. Rodriguez is also able to meet most custom requirements. The production of special spur gears, worm gear sets and drive technology is a Framo Morat strength. Also new is a European manufactured range of KHK branded high precision racks and pinions. Available with straight or helical teeth, these new KHK products are available from R. A. Rodriguez in a choice of sizes and qualities to suit a variety of rotary-to-linear and linear-to-rotary motion requirements. Growing demand for gear products from R. A. Rodriguez has led the company to appoint a dedicated Gear Product Manager. He is Darren Reynolds who steps up from general sales into this newly created role. Naturally he will be at Drives & Controls to...

MPS-GR Miniature, Gear-Drive Rotary Stages for Tight Spaces

Aerotech’s MPS-GR series rotary stages provide accurate, repeatable positioning in a miniature, low profile and economical package. Available in two sizes – the MPS50GR and MPS75GR – they are engineered for both the confines and requirements of a laboratory setting as well as for 24/7 industrial manufacturing. MPS-GR stages are ideal for optics, measurement, alignment, inspection and other demanding applications. Construction Features – MPS-GR stages incorporate precision worm-gear drive and bearing components for accurate and repeatable positioning. They are available with DC servo or stepper motors and either a 20 mm (MPS50GR) or 30 mm (MPS75GR) clear aperture. The clear aperture allows the MPS-GR series to address applications requiring a through-hole or accommodations to mount an optic, including articulation of beam polarizing lenses, through-holes for cabling or air lines, or vision/camera/inspection applications. The DC servomotors for the MPS-GR stages are equipped with a square-wave rotary encoder and the MPS75GR includes a manual adjustment knob. The MPS-GR rotary stages provide performance of up to 80 arc seconds accuracy, 1 arc second resolution, 6 arc seconds repeatability and 180 degrees per second maximum speed. Top load capacity is 12 kg and tilt error motion is 40 arc seconds. Vacuum and Mounting Options Both stages are available with optional vacuum preparation to 10-6 torr including a vacuum-rated motor/feedback connector. An optional breadboard mounting plate provides direct mounting to both English and metric optical tables and a Lens Mount Option (LMO) permits easy mounting of standard lenses over the stage aperture. The MPS50GR and MPS75GR are members of Aerotech’s MPS (Miniature Positioning Stage) family of linear, rotary, goniometer and vertical-lift stages. It is...
