Automotive supplier expands smart manufacturing platform

Bayrak Technik GmbH has expanded its use of the Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform to additional plants and functional domains, extending its digital manufacturing infrastructure across operations in Germany. The deployment is intended to improve inventory control, production planning, quality management, and machine-level data integration while supporting tighter data exchange with automotive OEM customers.

Scaling digital manufacturing across sites
Bayrak Technik operates four manufacturing plants in Germany and produces thermoplastic, elastomer, and metal components for automotive interior, exterior, and chassis applications. The company also supplies sealing technologies for medical and construction markets, where traceability, process consistency, and quality documentation are critical.

By extending its use of the Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform, Bayrak Technik is consolidating enterprise resource planning (ERP), manufacturing execution systems (MES), and quality management systems (QMS) into a single, cloud-based environment. This allows production and operational data from multiple plants and machines to be managed consistently, reducing fragmentation between sites and functions.

Enabling data-driven production and customer integration
A key driver behind the expanded rollout is the need for reliable, structured machine data. One of Bayrak Technik’s automotive OEM customers requested direct access to production data to support a digital supply chain connection. Rather than implementing a point solution, the company chose to scale a standardized platform that could support future customer requirements without additional system complexity.

The Plex platform aggregates machine, production, and quality data and makes it available for operational analytics and reporting. This supports use cases such as real-time production monitoring, inventory visibility, asset integration, and plantwide performance analysis, all from a shared data foundation.

Supporting continuous improvement and compliance
By unifying ERP, MES, and QMS functions, Bayrak Technik can align production planning, execution, and quality processes more closely. This is particularly relevant for automotive manufacturing, where compliance with customer-specific standards and rapid response to quality deviations are essential.

The expanded deployment also reduces manual data handling and local system variations, enabling operators and management teams to base decisions on consistent, plantwide information.
