High-precision positioning is becoming a core requirement in robotics, port logistics and industrial automation, particularly where autonomous navigation depends on accurate and resilient GNSS* data. In this context, Septentrio, part of Hexagon, introduced the AsteRx EB, a compact multi-frequency GNSS receiver designed for industrial positioning applications.
Positioning performance for robotics and autonomous systems
The AsteRx EB is designed to provide high-accuracy GNSS positioning and heading information for applications including industrial robots, marine systems, port automation and scalable automation platforms.
In dual-antenna configurations, the receiver supports sub-degree GNSS heading accuracy for applications requiring both position and orientation data in addition to RTK positioning. This capability is relevant for autonomous navigation systems where reliable heading information is required for safe movement and positioning.
The receiver also integrates RAIM+ integrity monitoring technology to support positioning reliability, which is particularly important for automated and safety-relevant navigation tasks.
Reliable GNSS operation in challenging signal environments
Industrial GNSS deployments often face challenges such as signal reflections, foliage coverage or intentional and unintentional radio interference. The AsteRx EB integrates GNSS+ processing algorithms designed to maintain positioning performance in such environments.
Additional resilience is provided through AIM+** anti-jamming and anti-spoofing technologies intended to protect positioning data from interference or signal manipulation. These functions support reliable operation in industrial environments where GNSS signals may be degraded or disrupted.
Compact enclosure for industrial deployment
The receiver is housed in an IP67-rated enclosure designed to protect against dust and water ingress in outdoor and industrial environments. The compact design is intended to simplify integration into existing equipment and support faster deployment of positioning systems.
This type of enclosed receiver design allows use across a wide range of industrial automation environments where environmental protection and integration flexibility are required.
Extending Septentrio’s enclosed GNSS receiver portfolio
The AsteRx EB extends Septentrio’s range of enclosed GNSS receivers and is positioned alongside other products such as mosaic-go, which is used for evaluation and testing of GNSS positioning technologies.
For applications requiring higher mechanical robustness or exposure to extreme environmental conditions, the company also offers the AsteRx RB3 receiver designed for higher levels of environmental protection.
With the addition of AsteRx EB, Septentrio expands its positioning technology portfolio targeting industrial automation, robotics and digital logistics applications where reliable GNSS data supports autonomous and connected operations.
