Alva Industries Showcases Slim Frameless Motor Technology

Alva Industries will present its SlimTorq frameless motor portfolio and FiberPrinting stator manufacturing technology at the Robotics Summit & Expo 2026, scheduled for 27–28 May at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Massachusetts, USA. The company will also conduct a live motor demonstration at booth #440, allowing engineers to evaluate motor performance and discuss robotic actuator integration requirements.

The event focuses on technical development within the commercial robotics and intelligent systems sector, bringing together more than 6,000 engineers, robotics developers, and industrial decision-makers from industries including aerospace, healthcare, logistics, defense, and manufacturing. Demand within these sectors continues to increase for compact electric drive systems capable of delivering higher torque density while minimizing weight and installation space.

Slotless motor architecture for robotic systems
Alva’s SlimTorq frameless motors are designed with a slotless architecture intended to reduce cogging torque and support smoother rotational motion. Low-cogging motor designs are commonly used in robotic systems requiring precise positioning and controlled movement, including collaborative robotic arms, exoskeletons, and precision automation equipment.

The frameless configuration enables direct integration into mechanical assemblies, helping reduce radial packaging constraints in compact actuator systems. The company will display several SlimTorq motor sizes during the exhibition, enabling visitors to compare form factors and evaluate integration suitability for different robotic and motion-control applications.

Evaluation units will also be available at the booth, allowing engineers to inspect motor construction and discuss implementation considerations directly with Alva specialists.

FiberPrinting technology and thermal management
Alongside the motor portfolio, Alva will showcase FiberPrinting, the company’s proprietary stator manufacturing technology. According to the company, the production method enables electric motors to be manufactured in a broader range of geometries while maintaining a reduced axial footprint.

The winding approach is also intended to support thermal management and electrical efficiency through optimized stator structures. Thermal performance and compact integration remain critical design considerations in robotic motion systems, particularly in high-duty-cycle applications where excessive heat can affect positioning accuracy, efficiency, and component lifespan.

Lightweight frameless motors are increasingly being adopted across robotics and automation platforms to improve payload efficiency and reduce overall mechanical complexity.

Live motor demonstration at the exhibition
A live interactive motor demonstration will run throughout both days of the exhibition, providing attendees with an opportunity to observe the motor systems under operating conditions and discuss integration requirements with Alva’s engineering team.
