Manufacturers in aerospace, electronics, medical devices, and precision engineering are increasingly combining automated metrology, digital inspection, and traceability systems to improve quality control and reduce production inefficiencies. In this context, Vision Engineering Group will present a combined portfolio of metrology, inspection, and engineering support technologies at Smart Factory Expo 2026, taking place at the NEC in Birmingham from 3–4 June.

Connected inspection and measurement workflows
At Stand F110, Vision Engineering Group will demonstrate an integrated manufacturing approach that combines optical inspection, automated measurement, and engineering support within a unified workflow. The showcase includes metrology systems, ergonomic inspection platforms, and the company’s Technology Partnership division for contract manufacturing and product development support.

The combined setup is intended for manufacturers seeking repeatable measurement, production traceability, and faster transition from prototype development to repeat manufacturing. Such systems are increasingly used in digital manufacturing environments where production teams require connected quality control processes across multiple stages of manufacturing.

Metrology systems for shop-floor quality control
The metrology display will include the Edge measurement system, designed to bridge analytical measurement and rapid shop-floor inspection workflows. The compact system is intended to support fast, repeatable measurements while integrating into smart factory production environments.

Vision Engineering Group will also present the LVC 400, a fully automated three-axis video measurement system developed for large components and high-throughput multi-part inspection tasks. Automated video metrology systems of this type are commonly used where manufacturers need consistent dimensional inspection with reduced operator variability.

Together, the systems are designed to support applications ranging from prototype validation to continuous inspection in higher-volume production environments.

Inspection systems designed around operator usability
The inspection portfolio will feature the Mantis PIXO eyepiece-less stereo microscope, developed to reduce operator eye strain during prolonged inspection and rework processes while maintaining 3D optical visualization. Ergonomic inspection systems are increasingly relevant in electronics manufacturing and precision engineering applications where operators conduct extended visual inspection tasks.

The stand will also include the Lynx EVO stereo microscope for high-resolution 3D imaging and depth perception, alongside the Evo Cam HALO digital inspection system for ultra-high-definition imaging and collaborative quality control workflows.

Another system on display, the Proteq VISO digital 3D inspection platform, supports real-time 3D image streaming for collaborative inspection and remote review applications.

Contract manufacturing alongside inspection technologies
In addition to metrology and inspection systems, Vision Engineering Group will present its Technology Partnership division, which provides UK-based contract manufacturing and engineering support services for medical, defence, and industrial programs. The division supports projects from prototype development through repeat production while maintaining documentation, traceability, and quality management procedures.

The operation is registered to ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and JOSCAR standards, supporting regulated manufacturing environments that require documented production controls and supply chain compliance.
