With the P1PY21 series, the wenglor sensoric group is setting new standards in sensor technology. The P1PY21 uses blue laser as the world’s first sensor with time-of-flight technology. With impressive performance: the wintec with blue light delivers precise measurement results even under extreme conditions. Thanks to the shorter wavelength, blue laser light does not penetrate as deeply into the object surface, enabling stable detection in dark, glossy, organic or (semi-)transparent materials. An integrated special filter ensures reliable detection even in the event of interference from high-emitting objects, such as glowing metals. Equipped with proven Dynamic Sensitivity technology, wintec combines precision and innovation with blue light, making it the ideal solution for complex applications in automation technology.
The integrated innovative BlueLine technology is based on short-wave blue laser light with a wavelength of 445 nm and achieves high accuracy on demanding surfaces, such as glossy plastics, dark paints or polished metals. Red glowing surfaces in the metal industry are also reliably detected. The reduced penetration depth of the blue laser ensures safe detection of organic materials and can be operated safely according to laser class 2. The P1PY21 series also handles even uneven surfaces with holes, tears or grid structures with a wide detection range thanks to the large-area line-shaped laser light spot.
Perfectly Equipped for Every Measurement Task
Advanced functions make the wintec with blue light versatile for a wide range of measuring tasks. The dynamic jump detection reacts to changes in the measured value and thus enables detection of flat objects on an uneven surface, for example. Even the finest contrasts are detected by means of intensity evaluation, which guarantees exact part inspection in terms of height and color. Speeds can be measured contact- and wear-free, even over long distances and regardless of the test object’s surface finish. With high black sensitivity and optimized angle performance, the P1PY21 series offers reliable detection of black, glossy and inclined surfaces as well as even the smallest objects. With a working range of five meters and the ability to provide transparent object detection, the laser distance sensors achieve accurate results even with very weak signals and excel in applications with transparent materials.
The wintec with blue light also scores points in terms of ease of use. Thanks to the high-contrast OLED display, measurement data can be read easily even in challenging light conditions. Direct parameter configuration takes place via the clear menu, which makes initial startup and adjustment particularly user-friendly. The integrated Bluetooth functionality enables wireless parameterization and data transfer via the weCon app. As the sensors can be configured remotely, this provides an efficient solution for hard-to-reach sensors or large-volume installations.
