From March 24 to 26, 2026, Dunkermotoren, part of the AMETEK Group, will exhibit at LogiMAT in Stuttgart (Hall 8, Booth 8F09), focusing on smart drive technologies designed for modern intralogistics, industrial trucks, and automated material handling systems. The presentation centers on how embedded intelligence in electric drives can reduce downtime, improve system transparency, and simplify automation architectures.
Embedded intelligence for predictive maintenance
A central theme of Dunkermotoren’s LogiMAT presence is condition monitoring and predictive maintenance based directly on motor-integrated data. Using its nexofox digital platform, the company demonstrates how operational data captured inside the motor can be analyzed to assess drivetrain health without adding external sensors or hardware.
The approach relies on electrical and mechanical signals already available in the motor and gearbox. By correlating these signals over time, the system can detect early deviations linked not only to gearbox wear but also to mechanical attachments such as spindles, rollers, or cutting elements. This enables maintenance interventions to be planned before failures occur, reducing unplanned downtime and improving asset availability in automated logistics environments.
Digital twins for lifecycle and after-sales optimization
Beyond maintenance, Dunkermotoren is showcasing how digital twins can support after-sales services and lifecycle management. By maintaining a digital representation of the drive system linked to real operating data, users can analyze performance trends, support commissioning, and streamline service processes. This data-driven approach is particularly relevant for fleets of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), where scalability and consistency are critical.
Compact high-torque solutions for AGVs and AMRs
On the hardware side, Dunkermotoren highlights the NG 1000 WO hub gearbox combined with the BG 95 BLDC motor. This drive unit is designed for industrial trucks requiring high torque in extremely compact installation spaces. The wheel-oriented gearbox supports low vehicle clearance and narrow chassis designs, which are increasingly important in dense warehouse layouts.
According to the company, the configuration supports vehicles with total weights of up to four tonnes and enables high acceleration within a few seconds, depending on application parameters. Modular customization options allow the drive system to be adapted to different vehicle concepts, load profiles, and duty cycles.
Relevance for intralogistics and automation
By combining smart BLDC motors, integrated electronics, software analytics, and compact mechanical design, Dunkermotoren addresses key challenges in intralogistics automation: availability, energy efficiency, space constraints, and lifecycle cost control. At LogiMAT 2026, the company positions intelligent drives not as isolated components, but as data-enabled subsystems within a broader automation and digitalization strategy.
