TURCK Introduces IP67 Conveyor Control Module for MTA Sorter Lines

TURCK has extended its range of digital conveyor solutions with the TBEN-LLx-4SLC, a robust IP67-rated module designed to control up to four sorter lines from MTA. The module enables direct integration of sorter technology into Industrial Ethernet networks and supports decentralized conveyor architectures without a control cabinet.

Decentralized Control for Sorter Systems
Each of the four channels can control an MTA swivel motor and/or an MTA multi-axis controller. A single MTA multi-axis controller can manage up to twelve sorter motors, allowing scalable configuration of conveyor segments.

By mounting the TBEN-LLx-4SLC directly on the conveyor module, wiring effort is reduced compared with central cabinet-based control systems. This decentralized approach improves scalability and simplifies expansion in applications such as parcel sorting systems, distribution centers and airport logistics.

Distributed control also enhances system flexibility, as individual conveyor sections can be configured or modified without extensive changes to centralized infrastructure.

Industrial Ethernet and I/O Integration
The module supports multi-protocol Ethernet, including PROFINET, Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP, enabling integration into heterogeneous automation environments. An integrated web interface allows parameterization and diagnostics without additional software tools.

Four digital inputs and four configurable digital inputs/outputs provide direct signal exchange at the conveyor line level. This enables local sensor and actuator connectivity without additional remote I/O modules.

Power is supplied via M12 L-coded connectors, with optional support for motor supply up to 48 V. This simplifies field installation and supports higher-power drive requirements.

Robust Design for Harsh Environments
The encapsulated housing offers protection ratings up to IP69K, allowing use in environments exposed to dust, moisture or high-pressure washdown. The rugged construction supports installation directly on conveyor structures in logistics and intralogistics facilities.

Integrated ARGEE logic enables user-defined control routines to be executed locally on the module. This reduces dependency on higher-level PLC programming for specific conveyor control tasks and can improve response times for localized operations.

Product Variants and Safe Daisy Chaining
The TBEN-LLx-4SLC family includes LL and LLH variants with different pin assignments, ensuring safe operation during daisy chaining of multiple modules along conveyor lines. Both versions are available from stock.

By combining decentralized control, multi-protocol Industrial Ethernet support and high ingress protection, the TBEN-LLx-4SLC supports scalable and cabinet-free sorter line integration in modern conveyor systems.
